The LRB Beginners' and Training Band

The LRB Training Band started in June 2008. It now has over 40 learners, young and mature alike. The Training Band rehearsals every Sunday night from 6-7pm in Longcroft Hall.

The Beginners' Band meets on Sundays at 5pm in Longcroft Hall. Learners will be given individual and small group tuition and can choose from a range of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. Training materials will also be provided. Tuition is at a minimal cost of £7 per month.

Our next recruitment night will be on 4th September 2011. If you are interested in learning a new instrument, come along and find out more. In particular, we are interested in hearing from anyone who would like to play the flute, trombone or horn. Priority will be given to those who are in P4 or above

The conductor is Theresa McSherry, a 2009 graduate from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. She is assisted by a range of experienced Reed Band tutors and the main conductor, Lex McDowell, from Linlithgow Academy.

The Band will again be taking part in the Scottish Concert Band Festival on Sunday 4th December in Inveralmond Community High School.
